THIS BOOK is dedicated to the Home Builders of America in the sincere hope that by its aid their standard of living may be further raised, the design of American homes improved and their comforts increased.

Investigation having shown that 90 per cent of the homes built in this country cost from $3,500 to $15,000, the houses illustrated in this book are confined to those falling within these price limits. HOME BUILDERS CATALOG is designed, not for millionaires, but for the millions—for that great mass of the American people who are the life-blood of the nation and whom Lincoln said –God must have loved because he made so many of them.”

The largest investment ever made by the average family is the sum of money invested in a home. How necessary, then, it is that every precaution should be taken to safeguard this investment and to make it a source of lasting satisfaction—the satisfaction that can be derived only from a home that is attractive in appearance, convenient in arrangement, and thoroughly well built of time-tested and reliable materials.

In the Manufacturers’ Section of HOME BUILDERS CATALOG will be found authentic information on each class of building material and on other products necessary for the construction and equipment of the home, and in the Plan Section are hundreds of attractive designs of houses, each of which has actually been built. The illustrations are from photographs, giving a clearer idea of how the house will look when finished than can possibly be conveyed by an imaginary sketch.

A careful study of the floor plans will reveal many unique features designed to add to the comfort and convenience of the home without materially increasing its cost. Complete working blue-print plans of any house illustrated can be obtained through the building contractor whose name appears on the front cover of this book.

Of this 1928 edition of HOME BUILDERS CATALOG 25,000 copies were printed and distributed to leading building contractors who specialize in home construction. Copies are also on file in many public libraries. With this broad distribution it is hoped and believed that the helpful information contained in this book will be available to hundreds of thousands of home builders and will aid them, with the help of their building contractor, in securing more attractive, substantial and conveniently arranged homes than would otherwise have been possible.

If this 1928 edition of HOME BUILDERS CATALOG does not include all of the products in which you are interested, we would be glad to hace you call such omissions to our attention for our guidance in increasing the usefulness of this reference work in future editions.
