The Product
All Edison Portland Cement is produced in one mill located at New Village, N. J. It is a cement of uniformly high quality, and has met every specification of the American Society for Testing Materials before, as well as after the specifications have been adopted. Edison Cement may he bought in either paper or cloth bags.
Preparing the Mix
Whenever Portland Cement can be used, Edison will be found safe and satisfactory. Among the common purposes are for stucco, walls, floors, sidewalks, driveways, steps and curbs. In the table below will be found mixtures and maximum size stone for various types of concrete work. At all times the aggregates—sand and stone—should be clean and well-graded. It is best to use the same measure throughout the job, so that the proportions of the different ingredients will be accurate.

A 1:2:3 mixture means 1 sack (1 cu. ft.) of cement, 2 cu. ft. of sand, and 3 cu. ft. of pebbles or stone. The first figure is for cement, second for sand, etc.
An ordinary residence becomes distinctive when given the warmth and color of Edison Portland cement stucco.
*Manufacturing Standards
The Edison Mill is, from a standpoint of productive capacity, one of the five largest in the country. Its equipment and methods are most modern and efficient. Limiting production to one large mill means that the cement is always uniform. All the raw materials go through the most modern machinery—much of it the invention of Thos. A. Edison. Conditions throughout are standardized to assure the maintenance of one high quality. Vigilant chemical control at the mill is backed up by the work of an independent laboratory which constantly samples, tests, and analyzes the cement to check against the results obtained by the Edison force.
Service
The building material dealer is the Edison representative in your territory. He has the best facilities to give quick service. Supporting him are the large storage bins and modern bagging and shipping equipment at the mill. Orders given at the mill are filled ordinarily within 24 hours —a feature of Edison service. The central location of the mill gives fast and direct freight routes to all points in New England and the Middle Atlantic States.
